BUCS Sprint Triathlon 2017

On Sunday the 31st of April we took 20 athletes to Calne for the BUCS sprint triathlon which was EUTriC’s biggest turn out yet for this event! After what was a rather early start ( many members of EUTriC had not seen the hours of 6am for quite some time) we arrived at Calne in good time where Charlotte was the first race, finishing in a very respectable time of 1:37:05. Our next wave of athletes include Grace, Molly and Becca who all raced fantastically and were happy to have completed their first ever triathlon. Overall the girls did brilliantly; special mention goes to Ellen P-K who finished in 1:24:51, placing her 50th overall. Emily Brunel was happy to get a PB in a time of 1:28:37, closely followed by third fasted girl Isabel Cole in 1:29:56 and Alice Carr in 1:31:05.

On the boys side we also had several competing in their first ever triathlon including Simon Jones ( 1:22:33), Brian Tai (1:23:48), Alan Truman (1:34:39), Callum Aldous (1:18:35) and Andrew Cox (1:34:49). Quang, Pierre and Morgan also put in a strong performances (Morgan matching Emily with a new PB!). Continuing his success from the Donut Duathlon was Tim Gordon, who was our fastest male, coming 62nd in a time of 1:11:10. Despite a long period of injury Harry Preston was still our second fastest male finishing in 1:13:25, he was followed by Finn Arentz in 1:16:23 (still recovering from the London marathon!) and Alex Foyn in 1:16:32.

A fantastic day was had by all and special mentions go to Kevin for supporting and the boys for doing a great job at creative tent construction!
